Dave Eshleman, former Mayor of Fontana, California and Kenton Gray, businessman, successful race team owner and driver have announced the formation of Eshleman-Gray Racing, to run the NASCAR Whelen All-American Super Late Model Series as well as the Camping World West Series, and select ARCA/ReMax and Nationwide Series races fall 2008.
"We're very excited about this new partnership and the potentials that we both bring to the table." Announced Kenton Gray. "We have amazing assets, each in our own right, and together we will be a highly competetive and marketable force in the world of NASCAR motorsports."
Davd Eshleman brings a 40 year history in racing to the table, including his own seat time along with helping to bring major drivers up the line such as Sprint Cup driver David Gilliland. He also worked with the Roger Penske Organization to open the Autoclub Speedway (formerly California Speedway) in Fontana.
Kenton Gray also sports a long career in racing, having been involved in the sport with great success since the age of 10, winning races as a driver and also working as a successful team owner in 2000-2002.
Eshleman-Gray Racing will be starting their 2008 campaign at the opening of Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, 22 March 2008 with three Super Late Models. Drivers on opening night include Kenton Gray in the 88 car, Jeff Eshleman in the 33 car and Charles Price in the 55, with Charles being favored to win based on recent performance in practice and his successes in the West Series.
Kenton comments, "We're so excited to be kicking off this season with three cars running. I'm excited as hell to be behind the wheel again after taking a year and a half to work on business development. It's all coming full circle now after several years of effort and with all of the this in place we should be real contenders." Stay tuned for more very big announcements coming soon.
