What a great weekend to be out at the races. Tons of fans, hot sun, and clear blue skies combined with ear shattering engines and the smell of race fuel. Ahh….heaven! The Busch and Nextel Cup Series show up twice a year at California Speedway in Fontana and we wouldn’t miss either one. Unfortunately Kenton had the tough choice of racing a local Super Late Model race at Irwindale Speedway Saturday night or catering to clients for next years racing program. The decision to work on next year won out.
Saturdays Busch Race and Sunday’s Nextel Cup race was dominated by Kasey Kane who won both races. Ironically we got a glimpse of Kasey signing autographs in the garage area prior to Saturday’s race. He was also Kenton’s favorite to win at least the Cup race so that he would make the chase and wouldn’t you know it he won both races.
We were hosted by a Busch team that provided everyone with an up close look at the game. We had everyone take a tour of the garage area, the hauler, pit row and then watch the race from the pits. It was a blast, especially during the pit stops. Lot’s of action. Each of us was given a radio and headset to listen in on the spotter, driver and crew chief communications which made following the action much better.
It turned out to be a very successful weekend with us securing a Letter of Intent with a new partner for next year, which we will be announcing very soon. In the meantime check out the Gallery section to see pictures taken during Saturday and Sunday’s events.
