CALE GALE, DRIVER OF THE NO. 2 CHEVROLET SILVERADO:
Mobile, Ala., native Cale Gale showed promise from the start, earning
championships in both super-stock and late model racing at the Mobile International Speedway. In 2006, Gale competed in four Busch Series and three Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) races, winning at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill., in just his second ARCA start July 28, 2006. Gale got his first taste of KHI in 2006 when he competed in a Busch Series race at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park. He qualified a respectable 15th for the start and finished the day in the 25th position.
CHARLIE WILSON, CREW CHIEF OF THE NO. 2 CHEVROLET SILVERADO:
Charlie Wilson will crew chief the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado for a 13-race
NASCAR Truck Series schedule in 2007. Following several successful years at
Orleans Racing, Wilson made the move across the country to work for Kevin
Harvick Inc. (KHI) in 2006. “Charlie Wilson was the perfect fit to bring
stability to our team last year at KHI,” said KHI General Manager, Rick
Carelli. “He started working with Wally Rogers last year on the No. 33 car,
becoming the car chief and also the shop foreman — it has worked out
really well.”
CALE GALE ON DAYTONA:
“I want to thank DeLana and Kevin Harvick for this opportunity,” Gale said.
“I look forward to working together with Rick Carelli and the entire team
at KHI. I feel with Kevin Harvick in my corner, I can develop myself as a
complete racecar driver.”
“With the equipment that I have been given, I feel that I will gain
valuable experience racing the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet at Daytona and
Talladega in the NASCAR Truck Series.”
-over-
“I grew up on short tracks and that is where I will have a chance to excel.
We have a great team and with the help of Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick,
we will have more information and even better communication with our crew
on the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet in the 07 season.”
“I am trying to get to know everyone here at KHI and show them that I am
dedicated to win. Growing up I had to work on my race cars each and every
week. It is something I like to do and I don’t plan on stopping anytime
soon.”
CAMPING WORLD JOINS THE KHI TEAM:
KHI will debut its No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet this weekend at the
Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. The Bowling Green, Ky., based
Camping World will sponsor KHI’s No. 2 NASCAR Truck team for 12 races in
the 2007 season. RVs.com will also come on board this season in conjunction
with Camping World, as an associate sponsor in presenting the No. 2
Chevrolet Silverado Truck.
CALE GALE’S GOALS FOR 2007:
In 2007, Gale will be participating in the Busch, Truck and ARCA Series at
KHI. “I have many goals coming into the 2007 season,” said Gale. “I would
like to win a Busch and Truck race as well as a few ARCA races. I think
the more seat time I get racing in all three of these divisions, the better
race car driver I will become.” Gale is scheduled to run seven races for
KHI in the Busch Series and four races in the Truck Series in 2007.
